Fahrenheit 451 is a forthcoming film based on the classic Ray Bradbury novel. In the not-too-distant future, the government completely controls every aspect of the public’s lives. All forms of media are manipulated and all literature is banned. The ‘Salamander’ firemen are employed not to extinguish flames, but to burn all books and any buildings suspected of hiding them. When designing this poster, my train of thought led to uprisings - in particular, the Cuban Revolution. The design is based upon that most enduring of images from the conflict - the photograph of Che Guevara. Reference is also made to the street art that was the main form of propaganda in that war.
